Buro Happold Engineers

Buro Happold was founded in 1976 by Ted Happold and has grown over the past 25 years to become an international multi-disciplinary consulting engineering firm. We design engineering for complete developments, buildings and their infrastructure and offer general and specialist engineering consultancy.



A multi-disciplinary approach helps us to deliver more effective responses from the important early stages of design through to final implementation and subsequent operation and maintenance. We place high importance on integrated design solutions, innovation, value and delivery within agreed time scales. Consideration is given to the environment through efficient use of materials and energy. We work closely with our clients to understand their wishes and concerns.



In recognition of our contribution to the construction industry we have received several prominent awards. These include:



- The Queens Award for Enterprise 2001 in the category of Sustainable Development demonstrating responsible use of technical and material resources through design

- The Royal Academy of Engineering Mac Robert Award for the successful development of innovative ideas in engineering

- In 1999 we were the first consultancy to receive the New Civil Engineer awards in the categories of Consultant of the Year and Medium sized Consultant

- The CIBSE Building Services Awards 2000 in the category of Large Building of the Year Award 2000

- The Aga Khan Award for Architecture on two occasions, the most recent in 1998 for the Diplomatic Club in Riyadh

- The Public Building/Office Award in 1995 for the Sobanski Palace, Warsaw presented by the Association of Polish Architects
